Ground Bar Numbering System

To order a ground bar, simply choose a code from each of the sections and connect them to form the part number. If a section is not needed, such as a pigtail, leave it blank. An example of a Tinned copper ground bar with insulators and brackets using 1/4″ thick X 4″ wide X 24″ long material with a customer spec hole pattern and an exothermically welded 2/0-19 strand pigtail 10′ long attached is given below:

Section 1 — Type of Material
AGB — Aluminum Ground Bar
CGB — Copper Ground Bar
SGB — Stainless Steel Ground Bar
TCGB — Tinned Copper Ground Bar

Section 2 — Configuration
A — Insulators and Brackets
B — Bracket Only
I — Insulators Only
N — Nothing (Bar Only)
R — Equipment Rack

Section 3 — Size of Bar (thickness, width, length in inches)

36 = 3/16″  14 = 1/4″  38 = 3/8″  12 = 1/2″  etc.
1 = 1″  2 = 2″  3 = 3″  4 = 4″  5 = 5″  6 = 6″  etc.
Round to the nearest inch  12 = 12″  24 = 24″  30 = 30″  etc.

Section 4 — Hole Pattern
Refer to the following pages for hole pattern selection. If the desired hole pattern is not shown, add CTC (Cut to Customers specific needs). We can design any hole configuration or match any design.

Section 5 — Determination of Pigtail
If no pigtail is required leave blank and you are done.

X = exothermically welded pigtail is needed, proceed to type of cable and length of pigtail

Section 6 — Cable for Pigtail
Refer to the Ground Conductor Section of the catalog for conductor choices.

Section 7 — Pigtail Length
Round to the nearest foot  10 = 10′  14 = 14′  19 = 19′  25 = 25′  etc.
